In early June, Michelle and I drove over to the Black Forest in Germany for the weekend. It is incredible how close everything is located to Luxembourg. We set up our hotel location in Strasbourg, France which is less than 2 hours from our home. On the first day, we drove through the Black Forest in Germany. This was just a beautiful area with rolling hills, forests (of course, small German villages, etc.
Here's a few pictures from the Black Forest drive on Saturday:

| There were thick forests and rolling hills similar to what is shown here |

| One last shot of Triberg from the waterfalls. Notice the motorcyclists coming up the hill. It is days like this I miss my motorcycle. |

We then drove north to a town called Frieberg, Germany. There were cathedrals, clock towers, and several other older buildings. Take a look:
We finished the day in Baden-Baden, Germany. It is famous for its Casino and the ancient Roman spas and baths.

End of first day...back to hotel in Strasbourg, France.
We started out the day with a mid-morning snack outside the cathedral in Strasbourg. We then attended the Sunday morning service in the Strasbourg Cathedral. We did a walking tour of Strasbourg after the morning services.

We then traveled over to a couple of medieval towns in norther France. They were really fascinating to see. Obviously, geared to the tourist but still pretty cool.
Here's a couple of pictures from those towns:

All in all, a very good weekend. We saw some beautiful countryside and very cool villages. All of this in only a couple of days and just a couple of hours from home at all times.
